Blogging and I: It's Not Just a Fling

Why do I blog? Well it started out because I was sending Max's family updates through on what we were doing, and how Poppy was growing. Then I thought a blog would be so much easier since I wouldn't have to keep sending files through email. Also, it would be a nice way to save memories for the kids (back then it was just Poppy).

I've been blogging since 2008. So far I've blogged through 2 pregnancies, 1 stretch of maternity leave, full-time-working-mum status, stay-at-home-mum days and now work-at-home-mum-with-business-on-top-of-two-kids crazy days. So no, it's not just a fling. We're serious about each other and even intend to apply for a flat together some time in the near future.

Oh and it also serves as an excellent form of communication between Max and I.

Over the years my blog evolved. I now enjoy it so much and constantly add new things to it. New initiatives for instance like Breakfast for Champions or I Heart Smiles. Like Wordless Wednesdays that often feature Calla.

I've always loved writing and blogging serves as a form of stress relief for me. It's my me-time, something I enjoy doing in a silent house. It's something I can do when the kids are asleep since going out of the house without them, especially the small one, isn't really an option now.

In March this year, I was invited to join a very special group called Singapore Mom Bloggers and through this group I have learnt so much through the mums' sharings, made new friends, and it has even opened new doors for me. I'm so happy to share that I'm now working on a few paid posts, an opportunity that would probably not have come by without this group. Getting paid to do what I enjoy, how about that.

Wanna do it but are afraid of things getting too technical? I've always been a bit of a tech idiot (ok, a lot of a tech idiot) so really, if I can do it, anyone can. Nothing to be afraid off. It's reasonably user friendly (oh look at me all IT lingo-ish!)

Every mum's got a story to tell, what's yours? ;)

This post is part of a blog train hosted by Catch Forty Winks. Next up is Mrs Kam from www.thekamfamily.com

She started her blog in year 2008, a few months after her first child was born and has since been blogging
actively for the past four years. She is a full time working mum, who dedicates all her non-working hours to her children, attending to their needs and keeping them entertained. Blogging, to her, is a scarification of her sleeping hours, when her children are off to bed and house work done. Read her story on why she blogs!
