I Heart Smiles, Day 21 - Pancakes for Breakfast

Sometimes before Poppy goes to school, she tells me "Mama, tonight I would like to have noodles please". But I don't usually take requests for breakfast. Simply because I'm not much of a morning person and because everything's got to be done fast in the morning.

Weekends are different. On the weekend, I have an extra pair of hands, and that's when I can plan more elaborate breakfasts like pancakes.

I've mentioned before that Poppy is quite contented to eat toast and peanut butter, or cereals, every day. But one morning she said to me "Mama, can we have pancakes please?". Never mind I didn't even have the recipe ready, I said yes anyway.

It was a crazy morning. And adding pancakes to the mix just made it crazier, but having Poppy help me in the kitchen and helping me make pancakes (she really does help now, not just "help", ya know?), and presenting it to her on her plate and seeing that smile made it all worth it.

All my I Heart Smiles posts will be consolidated on my I Heart Smiles page

If you'd like to share how you make your kids smile, link up with me, won't you? Pictures of smiling kids optional though that'd be really nice. If your kids are shy, then please do include a picture of the thing that you do to make them smile :) It doesn't have to be a big thing, any little effort on your part (but it's got to be a conscious effort!) will do!
