The little one does these things everyday, but if I don't stop to look at her to savour the moment, soon she will grow out of flipping, backward scooting, arm flapping and leg kicking, and move on to sitting, crawling, standing, walking, running, skipping. Gasp!
One of my favourite things to do is to lie on the mat together with Calla, or put my face very close to hers when she's on her tummy. She loves it. Actually, she just loves the attention :)
We all love attention, don't we? It's the same for our kids as well. It's all too easy to enjoy a moment of quiet when they're entertaining themselves with toys or books or tv, but all too soon, they're going to be teenagers and then, when we want to talk to them, they wouldn't want to be seen with us, the un-cool old foggies.
I'm going to try to give the kids all the attention they want now, while they still want me and hopefully, when they're older, they'll still think of me as someone worth seeking attention from.
All my I Heart Smiles posts will be consolidated on my I Heart Smiles page.
If you'd like to share how you make your kids smile, link up with me, won't you? Pictures of smiling kids optional though that'd be really nice. If your kids are shy, then please do include a picture of the thing that you do to make them smile :) It doesn't have to be a big thing, any little effort on your part (but it's got to be a conscious effort!) will do!

Linking up!

That's so true Adora, that we should give them all the attention they want now while they still want us. God knows when they will start to shun away from the attention that we so desire to lavish upon them.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you! I try to remember that when my kids are talking to me and I am in the middle of something. It is so easy to just continue but I try to remember that if I don't listen now, they will just stop talking to me altogether!
