Foodie Friday: Poppy's Lunch

These days, due to a switch in sessions, Poppy is home in time for lunch. Which means that I've got another meal to prepare. I can no longer do the open-the-fridge-and-grab-whatever-I-see thing like I used to for my own lunches.

By the time she's home, she's usually famished. But because she's 4, she knows how to prioritise. Which means that play always comes first. So I try to make things that she likes for lunch so as to entice her to eat first before playing.

Thankfully, Poppy isn't really fussy when it comes to food but I always enjoy her smiles when she sees a funny or interesting food arrangement.

These days she's all about "Do you have a special treat for me?" so today I said "Yes, your special treat is chicken wings for lunch." She loves chicken wings. Technically they are chicken drumlets but hey, let's not argue about technicalities.

It's only egg whites because Calla had the yolk (Poppy only eats the whites and Calla can only eat the yolk. PERFECT!). The drumlets were marinated in honey, dark soy sauce and oregano then baked at 200 degrees C for 20 minutes. And they were yum :)

3 small drumlets are enough for Poppy? Or she finishes off the broccoli and the egg whites?
